Entry | The Battalion relieved the 4th GLOSTERS, leaving AUTHIE in the following order:- A,C,D,B, - 8.15, 8.30, 8.55, 9.15a.m., all Companies usingTrench LARREY from SAILLY. "A" Company RIGHT Section of the line: "C" Company LEFT Section: "B" Company to the KEEP: "D" Company to the RED CHATEAU. The new dispositions were as follows:- (copy attached) The relief was carried out quite satisfactorily. The Battalion HQ and "A" Company of the 10th ROYAL IRISH RIFLES were attached to the Battalion - 11th to 17th - No 1 Platoon to A Company: No 2 and Company HQ to "B": No 3 to "C" Company, and No 4 to "D" Company. Each platoon to do one tour of 24 hours individual trench instruction, 24 hours platoon instruction. They arrived about 6p.m. A patrol of 5 men in charge of L/c CRUST went out from Sap in LASCELLE at 9.0p.m. covering ground from DURAND to HOCHE, about 150 yards out. They returned at 11.0p.m. A fine day. Remarks 1 copy of new dispositions attached. |
