Entry | Working parties for carrying bricks for dug-outs at head of BIRON, and rations were found by "D" Coy. The enemy shelled the village in the early morning. A bugle or trumpet was played from the direction of BUCQUOY for half an hour about 7.0a.m. Cooking fires were observed in all three of the enemy's trenches at the morning "stand-to" in front of BATAILLE. Their Communication trenches on each side of FERME SANS NOM are now complete and are joined by a trench parallel to the road behind the farm. The trench referred to in the 19th now continuous from 361 - 862. Heavy transport was heard in PUISIEUX all the night. A lovely day. Remarks Lt Challenor retd from Leave. Lt DAVIS, 5th Sussex was attached for a months training as Adjutant. |
