Entry Working parties from A and C Companies - ration and brick carrying, work on Communcation trenches, repairing billets. 11th WARWICK platoon under RE. B Company 11th WARWICKS relieved D company 4th ROYAL BERKS and 15 and 16 platoons, 2 platoons of B Company (4th R BERKS) The relief was completed by 6.55p.m. D Company was billeted - 2 platoons in the village; 1 in dug-outs at the head of REMAUD; 1 in the bottom of BIRON. The two platoons of B Coy in the Quartermasters Stores and the Coy QM Stores. The enemy's guns were quiet all the morning, but about 2.30p.m. the Communication trenches REVEL, BRIQUETERIE, REMAUD and BIRON were shelled, possibly in the idea that a relief was in progress. Showery day. Heavy rifle rire suddenly broke out about 9.10p.m. on our left, the WARWICK Brigade having taken over these trenches. Remarks Lieuts Gathorne-Hardy and Hughes went on leave. Casualties: I KILLED, 2 WOUNDED.
