Entry We relieved 4th OXFORDS at 6.0p.m. onwards, as follows:- A Coy - 2 Platoons BRICKFIELDS; 1THE SQUARE. C Coy - In the village. B Coy - Trenches DURAND to LASSELLES. D Coy - Trenches HOCHE to left of Communication trench between MORAND and MACDONALD. HQ - In the house near SERRE Cross roads. Qm Mr and RAMC Stores remain the same. Relief carried out in the usual satisfactory manner. The Section we occupy (J) has been increased by taking in the fire trench MORAND and the Communication trenches each side. About 6.30p.m. 8 shells fell near trench HOCHE. The 3rd Warwick Battery at our request replied with 6 shells on the trenches opposite HOCHE. Remarks Sketch 2 Commanding Officer returned from leave. 2/Lt C D R Sharpe rejoined the Battalion.
