Entry A and C Companies practised the Counter Attack through the gaps in the wire in front of the inner defences - 10.30 - 11.30a.m. Four shells fell in the main street about 4.0p.m., the last shell falling abour 50 yards from HQ. Fortunately no casualties. List of working parties under RE supervision for the past week as follows:- Wiring - In front of outer defences, Brickfields. BOYEAU BATTEUSE - MASSENA - POMATOWSKI - in rear of LASSELLES. Draining - The main village drain in rear of Brigade HQ to trenches near BOYEAU SONIS. Digging - Trench for water supply along the main street. New Communcation trench BUCQUOY ROAD to BATAILLE - old French trench on South of village. General - Carrying and laying bricks in SONIS - BIRON - REMAUD - HADDON outer defences. Cleaning - Billeting area. Weather: A fine day. Remarks Sketch attached No 3
