| Entry | Work by day as on the 8th. A and C Companies relieved B and D Companies from 5.30p.m. onwards:- "B" Coy to the Brickfields; dug-outs by HQ and Village. "D" Coy to the Village. A very sultry day ending with a heavy thunderstorm and vivid lightening and torrential rain in the evening. All the fire and Communication trenches were flooded, in may cases to 3 feet deep. With two pumps from the RE and balers, the flooding was dealt with, all ranks working most cheerfully in spite of discomforts. |
