Entry The Battalion route-marched by Sections as on the 3rd. Relieved the 4th OXFORDS 8.15p.m. onwards. The line had been re-distributed since we were last in, the Section allotted to us being J-DURRAND to GUDIN (The two extra trenches being JENA and GUDIN) B and C Companies went up; A & C Companies in local support. Dispositions as follows:- A Company 4 platoons in the VILLAGE between the Church and the Washing Place. C Company 2 platoons in the BRIQUETERIE; 1 platoon in Dug-outs near HQ: 1 platoon in the Village. B Company DURAND, BOUILLET, NIEL, LASSALLE. D Company HOCHE, BATAILLE, JENNA, GUDIN. HQ In Dug-outs as before. O ROOM was changed to a house at SERRE Cross Road. Quartermaster and Medical Officer occupied the house used before as our HQ Mess. Two shells fell in 'C' Company's billets in the early afternoon; fortunately both of them were "blind". Weather unsettled. Remarks See map in July and sketch attached. No 1
