Location France, ALLOUAGNE - LES BREBIS
Entry Battn in billets. Battn attended Divine Service Parade. The Bishop of KHARTOUM took the service. The Btn marched off at 5pm proceeded to LES BREBIS, South of MAZINGARBE. A half way halt was made in the woods just N of the village of HOUCHIN. The Btn proceeded again at 10pm and reached its destination at LES BREBIS shortly after 2am. Companies were then billeted. The village is a small mining centre, and the houses are arranged in rows of hundreds. It was a long march, but the men completed it only two men falling out, both sick. To the regret of all ranks, our Brigadier General R Fanshawe relinquished command of the 6th Infantry Brigade, he having been given a Division. 25th Reinforcement, 118 other ranks, arrived. Brigadier General R Fanshawe gave up command of the 6th Infantry Brigade.
