Location | France, ALLOUAGNE - LES BREBIS |
Entry | Battn in billets. Battn attended Divine Service Parade. The Bishop of KHARTOUM took the service. The Btn marched off at 5pm proceeded to LES BREBIS, South of MAZINGARBE. A half way halt was made in the woods just N of the village of HOUCHIN. The Btn proceeded again at 10pm and reached its destination at LES BREBIS shortly after 2am. Companies were then billeted. The village is a small mining centre, and the houses are arranged in rows of hundreds. It was a long march, but the men completed it only two men falling out, both sick. To the regret of all ranks, our Brigadier General R Fanshawe relinquished command of the 6th Infantry Brigade, he having been given a Division. 25th Reinforcement, 118 other ranks, arrived. Brigadier General R Fanshawe gave up command of the 6th Infantry Brigade. |
