Entry | Battalion relieved by 1st Bn KINGS Regiment in the trenches. Relief was completed by 12 noon. The battalion went into billets at BEUVRY. In the afternoon Germans put four shells into the town, one of which did not explode, one child and ten of the civil population were wounded, no damage done to the military. During the night 11/12 reports were received that the Germans had exploded a mine in the French lines. The Battalion was ordered to move at once on Tourbieres, this order was subsequently cancelled, Battalion dismissed. 2nd Lieut W Cox returned from sick leave. |
