Entry | 2359 WAALWIJK went en fete from an early hour. Orange favours and national flags are everywhere and the local population are spending the day in celebration of their liberation. At Comd Offrs suggestion some six or seven hundred children were put into carriers and made a victory procession round the town leaving the square at 1200 hrs. 1930 hrs, Comd Offr, 21C, Adjt and a Guard of Honour paraded in the Town Square before a large crowd to receive, as representatives of the Allied Armies in WAALWIJK, the thanks of the Community for their liberation. After dark 2" Mortar flares and Verey lights were fired to illuminate the town. Weather: showery. |
