Entry 2359 0400 hrs message received that, incl in truce arrangements, GERMANS reserve the right to patrol into or fire on MEARSFORCE front between 2100 and 0500 hrs daily. This news received with some satisfaction by fwd tps who are now enabled to return the fire of enemy MGs which has harassed them for the last two nights. Infm also received that work of clearing river obstructions would commence this morning and also that road convoys would pass through fwd tps. 1415 hrs. Capt FRIETH, IO 1 BUCKS, called with detailed infm and instrs ref T Force task. After conference with Comd Offr, O Gp was held at 1830 hrs when Comd Offr laid down the policy to be carried out. Capt FRIETH addressed Coy Comds on the subject and answered their questions. 2100 hrs: the BBC Home Service News announced the surrender of GERMAN tps in NW GERMANY, HOLLAND, and DENMARK, to take effect from 0800 hrs tomorrow.
