Entry 2359 It may now be recorded that since 21 Apr the bn has been at 48 hrs notice to move to a fwd area. Infm was received last night that the destination is a sector on lower R MAAS, NW of s 'HERTOGENBOSCH where the bn is to relieve 28 Bn RM and come under comd 116 Bde RM who are under 1 Cdn Army. Adv party under 21C left HAMME 1030 hrs today. Main body moves tomorrow or day after, as soon as Q (M) BELGIUM can arrange rail tpt. Col. CATFORD, ADMS 16 L of C Sub Area visited the bn in the morning and stayed to lunch. At 1900 hrs infm was received from 21C that Comd 116 Bde RM required relief of 28 Bn RM to be completed not later than first light 27 Apr. The infm was passed to 16 L of C Sub Area who were persuaded to provide tpt for a road move. O Gp was held at 2100 hrs and arrangements for the move laid down. The Bn stay at HAMME has been very valuable. Coys were able to carry out much needed refresher and range wk. All rks received the most liberal hospitality from the townspeople while the bn was quartered in the town. Weather brighter, warm.
