| Entry | 2359. Previously arranged extensive fg programme took place 0800 - 0915 hrs this morning. All Arty (Fd, HAA, Super HA), tks (75mm, 95mm, 17 Pdr A Tk, 6 pdr A Tk) DO Mines, 3" Mortars, MMG and SA, on selected targets in en def posn. En retaliated with some shelling of own tk posns and as part of en retaliation consisted of reversed creeping barrage it is clear he was put into confusion and expected some kind of co-ordinated attack. Remainder of day quiet. 2250 hrs B Coy fwd posns were subjected to hy MG fire, en using SL to illuminate the posns. Own arty and 3" Mortars replied and although en fg became general along entire bn front, all was quiet by midnight. Weather fine, warm. Clear moonlight at night. |
