Entry | [17 and 18] 0200. Main body moved to new location. Road party moved off in Coy Gps independently at 20 min intervals. Rail party left at 1000 hrs and separate carrier train with tkd vehs, guns and crews left shortly afterwards. 5 KINGS were on the DUNKIRK perimeter under Op Comd 1 Czsk Indep Armd Bde. The Bn is to take over their role. The Bn has;- a. Under Comd - 1 Bty 608 Fd Regt RA (in inf role). b. In Sp - 1 Sqn Czsk Armd Regt. 1 Arty Fd Regt - CIABG (in close up). c. In Bn sector but under Bde control - 1 Bty 3 LAA/SL. Three rifle coys are fwd, between LOON PLAGE and GDE SAINTHE. Bn HQ res coy and fwd coy rear HQ in LOON PLAGE. Sp Coy and B ech in BOURBOURG. The sector is adm by 22 LHQ and for certain purposes by HQ 15 L of C. Inevitably, the best laid plans of Q(Movement) went awry - this time owing to the Gilbertious necessity of changing the Belgian locomotive which brought the personnel train (wagons de luxe - "8 chevaux; 40 hommes") to LILLE for a French locomotive. This process took three hours, so that the train which was due to arrive at 1624 hrs arrived eventually at 1935 hrs. C Coy relieved centre Coy at 0100 hrs. A Coy relieved res Coy. Bn op comd is to pass at 0700 hrs 19 Mar. Weather fine. |
