Patrol then went on to VOLPARA which was unoccupied thence towards LA PAGLIA but found S mines at 925027 Informant OP: At 915023 observed a trench system being developed beyond wadi running EAST+ and WEST from 915029-905028. Three enemy seen in MASSARIOLA and 4 vehs at 925034 moving SOUTH, then WEST to main rd by river. A spandau fired from 919028. Six men digging at 915033. Digging in wood at 913030. Movement seen all afternoon 912031-918042 Informant C: In wadi from 901031-920033 there is a trench system. GERMANS use track from MORTOLA-LA VALLE. MASSERIOLA is an HQ for a large number of tps(1000) who are occupying surrounding farms. Some tks and armd cars in area. Four guns at 910023/. DEL DUCA not permanently occupied. GERMAN night patrols go as far as 927023.
