Entry 0300: B Coy attacked by strong enemy force, beaten off after severe hand to hand fighting. 0330: MMG Spt on B Coy's L flank asked & secured 0400: C.O. asks Bde for Tp of Tanks. 0800: Bn HQ heavily shelled & mortared. 0850: B Coy attacked by approximately one Coy: attack broken up by L.M.G. and Arty D.F. Tanks 0857: C.O. asks Bde for an additional Coy from 1 L.I.R. 0900 - 1000: Fire plan was coordinated (1) Additional D.F.(Arty) arranged (2) 4.2 Mortar D.F. Tanks arranged (3) MMG Tanks arranged 0937: Sqdn and Tp Comd Scots Greys (23 Armd Bde) arrive and Tank roll planned. Tp to remain 950049 as mobile reserve. 1100: Capt. Cummings O. C. L.I.R. reports coming under comd. Coy placed Bn HQ area in stiffening and stalk roll [sic] 1045 - 1130: Shellfire on A Coy and Bn HQ 1120 - 1540: Enemy activity round C Coy. D.F. Jane used as harassing fire. 1400: Locality trace & sitrep from Bde 1620: Bn HQ shelled also A Coy 2000: Bursts of Spandau heard between CALABRITTO & Bn HQ 2015: C Coys ration party returns Bn HQ after being shot up before reacing Coy. C Coy came out later and took in the dumped amn. and rations. Heavy Arty fire on Bn Area at this time 2040 - 2050: Enemy infiltration round C Coy. D.F.
