| Entry | Activities Normal. Operational Commitments GUARDS. In addition to normal Coy and Bn., H.Q. Guards, guards are supplied as under:- 115 Indep Inf Bde D.P.S.D. - 2 N.C.O.'s & 12 O.R.'s by Day and 2 N.C.O.'s & 18 O.R.'s by Night. DINSLAKEN Prison - 2 Men on Court Days (Tues' & Sat') Snap Food Checks - 1 N.C.O. & 4 O.R.'s Twice Weekly. 115 Indep Inf Bde Authorised Car Park - 1 Man Daily. Road & Vehicle Checks. Road and Vehicle Checks in the area of Kreis DINSLAKEN 3 Officers 3 N.C.O.'s & 9 O.R.'s. Curfew Patrols Curfew Patrols carried out in Coy areas 2 Officers 4 Sgts & 16 Men. Operations On the night of 6/7 Dec 1945 the Bn., carried out a complete check of all buildings in the HORSTERBRUCH area map ref A.3125. The results of the search of the 117 buildings was as follows:- Persons detained - Nil Persons without house lists - 1 Persons on house lists but not present - 40 Persons not on house lists - 5 F.S. Personnel were present, and questioned one man suspected of S.S. sympathies and are themselves pursuing the matter. All other offenders were handed over to the Chief of Police who was present to be dealt with. The search commenced at 2300 hrs and finished at 0200 hrs. TRAINING Companies carried on with normal infantry training during the month, training included, Weapon training, Route Marches, and Organised Sports. EDUCATION The Bn, Education scheme terminated on the 13 of December, new classes of instruction will be started on the 2 of January. RECREATION Recreational sports have been encouraged throughout the month and Bn., and Company Football teams have taken part in a number of competitions within the Division. The Bn., was also represented in the 53 (W) Div Cross country Running team by Sgt. Hider of H.Q. Coy and Pte Spence of A Coy. The team took part in the B.A.O.R. winter championship run and came second. METEORLOGICAL The weather has been mainly cold with heavy frost and wet towards the latter part of the month. |
