ROAD AND VEHICLE CHECKS Road and Vehicle Check in area of Kries DINSLAKEN - 1 Officer, 1 N.C.O. & 8 men. BATTLE FIELD CLEARANCE C Coy continue to clear the area of WESEL of enemy weapons and stores. OPERATIONS The Bn, carried out Night House Checks in the Kreis DINSLAKEN as under:- Night 31 Oct/ 1 Nov area HUNXE Map Ref A. 3238 Sheet 4306 1/25,000 G.S.GS. NO 4414. Search commenced at 2300hrs and continued to 02300 1 Nov. The results of the 112 houses searched were as follows:- Persons detained Nil. Persons without House lists Nil. Persons on house list but not present - 25 Persons without Identify Papers - 1 (Papers since produced.) Persons not on house lists - 13 Night of 15 / 16 Nov area FRIEDICFELD Map Ref A.2537 Sheet 4305 1/25,000 G.S.G.S. No 4414. Search commenced at 2300hrs and continued to 0300hrs. The results of the 148 houses searched were as follows:- Persons detained - 2 Persons without house lists - 4 Persons on house lists but not present - 89 Persons without Identity Papers - 4 Persons with identity papers but without a Mil Gov Pass - 3 Persons not on house list - 11 Night 22/23 Nov area BARMING Map Ref A. 3328 Sheet 4406 1/25,000 G.S.G.S. No 4414. Search commenced at 2300 hrs and continued to 0201 hrs. The results of the 175 houses searched were as follows:- Persons detained - Nil Persons without house lists - 4 Persons on house lists but not present 65 Persons without Identity Papers - 1 Persons with identity papers but without a Mil Gov Pass - 7 Persons not on house lists - 9 TRAINING A four week N.C.O.'s Cadre finished on the 24th Nov. The results were good, and a number of appointments have been made to outstanding individuals. EDUCATION The education scheme is being given every encouragement but two subjects have had to be suspended, Building & Construction, and Music, owing to the release of the instructors and no replacements being available in the Bn. To replace these two subjects, classes in Art and Photography have been started. RECREATION Recreational sports have been encouraged throughout the month. Football, Cross Country Running, Water Polo teams etc have been entered in various competitions within the Division. The Cinema and Variety Concerts have been well attended. METEOROLOGICAL The weather has been good for the time of year, mainly Dry with some fronts during the nights and early mornings. There has as yet been no heavy mists or fog likely to impede transport. |
