| Entry | Battalion stood to arms as ordered and awaited orders to move. About 4.30 am firing was heard in a North Easterly direction. The Battalion was sent to a position in readiness and detailed to form rear guard to Brigade and hold onto BAVAI until all troops of the Brigade had cleared along the PONT SUR SAMBRE road. Retirement continued unmolested the Brigade marched into Billet at MAROUILLES about 6pm. |
