| Entry | (1) Major General Rees C.B., C.I.E., D.S.O., M.C., 19 Div Comdr held informal parade with officers & men of Bn & discussed the following:- his impressions of England, the attitude of the people as regards Rationing, Work & Troops in S.E.A.L. Also spoke as regards Repat. Everyone very interested & applauded his speech. (2) Pte Hewes, 'D' Coy an absentee since 15 Sept gave himself up to 9th Border Regt, near RANGOON, brought back to unit under escort & placed in Guard Room. (3)Officers entertained by Sgts in Sgts Mess. |
