| Entry | Col Davis & Major Bosheel, C.O. & 2 I/C of 1st Bn R Berks Regt visited Bn & stayed until morning of 3 Sept. It was arranged that 20 men of the Bn stayed with 1st Bn in Rangoon for 1 week. First party consisting of young soldiers leaves on 5 Sept by rail to Rangoon. (Copy of letter attached.) Rest of day treated as a Rest Day. Ecclesiastical. Bn held Thanksgiving Church Service in Bn HQ at 1100 hrs. 3 men of Bn went to Dedication & Handing Over of "St David's" Church, TOUNGOO erected by Div Engineers. (Letter attached.) R.C. Padre held Mass in Bn HQ area at 1100 hrs. Administrative. Lieut J.A. Eastwood left Bn for Anti-Malarial Course in RANGOON. |
