Entry Bn spent whole day in sorting out equipment, clothes etc & resting. Most of the clothes of the Bn including Bedding Rolls now completely rotten. Bn settled in new area surprisingly quickly. Various tasks allotted by 98 Bde under whose comd the Bn now reverts. Administration. Liquor Ration for August and Victory over Japan Liquor Ration of 1 bottle gin per officer & 1 bottle of Beer per B.O.R. issued to Bn. Great disappointment felt over latter since men had to pay for Victory Ration. Miscellaneous. Lieut Colonel Du Pre Finch returned from Lecture Tour in UK & visited Bn. Col Finch temporarily commanding 98 Bde in absence of Brigadier Jerrard (61 days leave).
