| Entry | Locations. (1) Bn HQ, 'HQ' & 'D' Coys moved to join 'C' Coy at MOSCOW (262947) M.S. 33.5 protecting Bde. HQ. (2) 'A' & 'B' Coy locations remained the same. (3) 1 Sect M.M.Gs under comd Bn & sited in 'HQ Coy area. Operational. No patrolling done by Bn. Bn had quiet night. Other units, Raj Rifs entered THITSEDAUNG at M.S. 36.4. No opposition met. C.O. held O Group at 1445 hrs & gave orders for following moves on 12 Aug (1) 'B' Coy with under comd 2 Sects 3" Mtrs move on mule basis to THITSEDAUNG (284927) & come under comd Raj Rifs. (2) 'A' Coy move on mule basis to feature (278938). 60 mules allocated by Bde for this move. (3) C.O. discussed further interval discipline, administrative & man management matters. Administrative. (1) 'A' & 'B' Coys collected in rations dropped by air at 0800 hrs. 1 Sect 'D' Coy mounted guard for night over supply point. (2) 9 replacement mules from Remount taken on strength of A.T. Pl. 9 tired & lame Unit mules went to remount. Bn has 32 fit Unit mules. Miscellaneous. (1) Div Comdr visited 62 Bde & stayed the night. (2) First jeeps crossed from Bridge (M.S. 25.4) & came right up to M.S. 34. Sappers had mended bridge & cleared craters & obstacles on road in amazingly short time. Men of Bn greatly bucked to see jeeps right up to Bn area. |
