Entry Operation. (1) Bn moved as per orders of 3 Aug. (A) Bn HQ & HQ Coy & 1 Sect M.M.G. under Comd established at Pt 233 (201939) by 1000 hrs. (B) 'C' Coy plus 1 Pl 'D' Coy established at M.S. 28 by 1030 hrs. (C) 'D' Coy less 1 Pl (at TRIANGLE) established at Pt 233 (201939) by 1100 hrs. (D) 1 Pl 'D' Coy plus R.E's reported road clear from M.S. 28 to IRON Bridge by 1130 hrs. (E) 2 Pls 'A' Coy occupied M.S. 29. (feature 21.8944) at 1530 hrs. (F) 'B' Coy remained on COURT. (G) 62 Bde Op Order No 25 for Rajputana Rifles to pass this Bn & occupy M.S. 30, patrolling E along MAWCHI ROAD. No sign of enemy or hostile shelling throught the day. Bn had quiet night. Rations manhandled 1 mile from ferryhead at 194946 to Bn area. Miscellaneous. (1) Intention of Brigadier, 62 Bde for 4 Aug attached. (2) Congratulatory message received from Div Comdr via Brigadier 62 Bde for occupation of STAIRCASE. (3) Telegrams of congratulations for 65th Anniversary of MAIWAND DAY received from General Collins, Col of the Regt, 4th Bn, 17 I.T.C., 6th Bn, Major Salt. (4) Fresh place code names as issued by 62 Bde attached. (5) Brigadier 62 Bde visited Bn in new location.
