Location M.S. 16.6 on MAWCHI ROAD., Burma
Entry Operations: Patrols as follows were sent out:- (1) 'B' Coy. NYAUNGBIN SAKAN (0801) - KUNGYAUNG (0602) - KYETTAIK (0903) - M.S. 17. (2) 'B' Coy. KYETTAIK ALE (0903) - KYETTAIK ATET (1104) - M.S. 16. (3) 'D' Coy. to TAWBAGYI (1409). (4) 'D' Coy. to MAWNWEGYI. (5) 'C' Coy. M.S. 17 - SIBINGYI (1602) - ADI VWA (1499). All reported 'No enemy seen'. Jap identity disc picked up on road about M.S. 17 sent on to Div H.Q. Training: Training continued as per programmes. Inter - Coy Grenade competition held in the afternoon and won by 'C' Coy. Administration: (1) 2 A.M.P.U. cameramen visited Bn and took shot of ration party, protected by 2 sections, going up to 'A' Coy Pl on 1534, also took shot of C.Os Pl Advancing to contact in thick jungle in monsoon conditions. (2) Capt COLE, War artist, left Bn for KANDY, Ceylon, to reproduce the sketches which he drew up of the Bn, viz: a) C.Os Pl cutting through jungle. b) Stretcher bearers evacuating a casualty. c) 'B' Coy camouflaged in ambush posn. d) R.A.P. (3) Allotment for leave party to India, 57 vacancies, received. (Calcutta 48, Darjeeling 9). Party to depart 3 July.
