Location M.S. 16.6 on MAWCHI ROAD., Burma
Entry Operations: Patrols carried out as follows:- (1) 'B' Coy. KYETTAIK ATET (1104) - RD JUNC (1103) (2) 'B' Coy. KYETTAIK (0903). (3) 'C' Coy. ADI VWA (1499). (4) 'D' Coy. KODOKA (2612). (5) 'D' Coy. MAWNWEGYI (22). All the above reported 'No enemy seen'. (6) 'B' Coy patrol which left 25 June returned at 1630 hrs. Route - KUTHIBIN (0010) - KUNBIN (9912) - NGWEDAUNGGYI (0412) - YWAGYI (0307) - KOGWE (0406). All these villages and tracks except KUTHIBIN (0010) reported clear. At KUTHIBIN 3 Japs had entered village from North at 1100 hrs 25 June, 15 minutes before our patrol arrived. Japs ran Northwards and patrol had considerable difficulty in firing owing to numbers of villagers around them. Area 1/2 mile to North was searched but no trace of Japs found. Packs belonging to these Japs were picked up and identity discs & documents were brought back by patrol and forwarded to Div H.Q. A head-man from village North of TAWBYGYI (1409) brought into THANDAUNG 1 Jap grenade discharger left by Japs about 1 month ago, also 1 Jap dynamo, both were brought to Bn H.Q. Training: Bn carried on normal training, firing again being predominant. Cadres continued. Welfare and Amenities: 40 men went to TOUNGOO to see E.N.S.A. show. References to Appendices: Appx J.8.
