Location M.S. 16.6 on MAWCHI ROAD., Burma
Entry Operations: (a) 'D' Coy patrols to MAWNWEGYI (22), TAWBYGYI (1409) and KODOKA (2612) reported no enemy seen. (b) 'B' Coy patrol to KUNGYAUNG (0602) reported no enemy seen. (c) 'C' Coy patrol to SIBINGYI (1602) reported no enemy seen. (d) 'A' Coy local patrols area M.S. 19 and pt 1534 reported no enemy seen. Training: (1) R.S.Ms weekly cadre for junior N.C.Os started. C.O. gave opening address. Cadre run by CSM Unsworth J. (acting R.S.M.) (2) Section Tactical Course started, duration 1 week, (programme attd Appx J.7.) consisting of 1 section of 'B' and 'C' Coys. Course run by Major E.C. Pemberton M.C. assisted by Lieut A.C. Soden and Sjt Fenn A. C.Os platoon acting as demonstration platoon. (3) Bn training started, all Coys devoting much time to zeroing rifles, L.M.G. and grenade discharger, 2" Mortars firing, leading up to section jungle lanes and Field Firing courses. (4) Tactical patrolling as laid down by Division continues daily and is used primarily to train new reinforcements in patrolling in active areas. Administration: Bn bath house, drying room and lecture rooms, made by Pioneers, ready for use. Pte Harrison G (Adm Coy) proceeded on D & M Course at Gurdesberg, the first man of the Bn to go on an India course for a considerable period. Welfare and Amenities: W.A.S. (B) Canteen visited Bn area, greatly appreciated. 40 men of the Bn went to an E.N.S.A. show "Laugh Awhile" at Toc H, Youngoo. Reference to Appendices: Appx F.11. 2 R Berks Int Summary dated 25 June.
