Entry | Operations: Bn had a quiet night. The following patrols were sent out:- (1) 'B' Coy - KYETTAIK ALE (0903) - KUNGYAUNG (0602) - KWEDE (0401) - Pt 239 (0203)(24 hrs). (2) 'B' Coy - KYETTAIK ALE (0903) - KYETTAIK ATET (1104). (3) 'C' Coy - SIBINGYI (1602) - m.s. 19. 'D' Coy patrols as under returned:- (A) THANDAUNG - KODOKA (2612). No enemy seen, but reported that 100 refugees moved along their axis on way to THANDAUNG. (B) THANDAUNG - TAWBYGYI. No enemy seen. (C) THANDAUNG - KYAUKLONGYI (1523). No enemy seen. Villagers reported that 200 Japs had entered NGAPOGYI (1927) from North on 17 June and left Northwards on 20 June taking cattle and food. At 2000 hrs report received from Div of large parties of Japs in TONBO area (1093), where a 'C' Coy patrol is operating. This patrol is due in on 23 June. Training: Remainder of Bn carried on normal training, including firing of 2" Mtrs and Grenade dischargers. Welfare: L.I.A.P. allotment for June was received. 1 Officer and 4 O.R. vacancies allotted.
