Location M.S. 16.6 on MAWCHI ROAD., Burma
Entry Patrols 1 to 4 of 19 June reported back, no enemy seen or evidence of recent Jap movement along tracks, which have become considerably overgrown. Patrol No 4 ('C' Coy) interrogated locals, who stated that Japs had not used area patrolled for past 14 days. 'B' Coy patrol to KUNTHIBIN 0010 - YWAGYI 030070 - PYASAKAN 0404 reported N.E.S. and N.T.R. Rest of day spent in administration, finishing off weapon pits, and cleaning area. At 1020 hrs a propaganda leaflet dropped by our planes and printed in Japanese came down in Bn H.Q. area (see Appx J.4). Col Powell G.H.Q. (India) visited Bn. Rangoon Party returned from Victory Parade, this party under Capt C. Simmons met 1st Bn, who formed Guard of Honour. Rumour report that Japs had crossed road about 1/2 mile N.W. of Bn area considered most unlikely. References to Appendices: Appx J.4.
