Entry Owing to limited time C.Os Pl did not complete search and patrol returned at 0700 hrs. Results N.Y.K. At 0700 hrs Commanding Officer left for MAWCHI ROAD. At 0800 hrs Bn, less 'A' Coy left for MAWCHI ROAD order of march:- 'D' Coy, 'C' Coy, Bn H.Q., HQ Coy, Adm Coy, 'B' Coy. Bn relieving 1st Assam Regt. At 1200 hrs Bn, less 'A' and 'D' Coys established at M.S. 16.6 MAWCHI ROAD, 'A' Coy astride road m.s. 19, 1 Pl at Pt 1534 (1599). 'D' Coy detached at THANDAUNG. Bn settled in and stood to 1845 - 1900 hrs. 1 Trp 8 Cavalry came under comd for road patrolling THANDAUNG - m.s. 19. Div Op Order No 25 as follows:- MAWCHI ROAD. Tasks of Bn:- Operational responsibility THANDAUNG and road from m.s. 13.2. (2) KEMAPYU Rd M.S. 8 - incl PALU CHAUNG (m.s. 20). Patrolling as per trace attd. (Appx D.4) (3) Training. Div G.I. (Lt - Col Masters) visited Bn. C.O. visited 62 Bde H.Q. (M.S. 19). Major P.B. Greenway joined Bn and posted to 'C' Coy to take over from Major E.C. Pemberton M.C. (awaiting repatriation).
