Entry | 'B' and 'D' Coys returned to Coy localities. At 1400 hrs Pl sent two sec patrols as follows:- (i) KALAYWA 8565 - MYEZI TAUNG 8464 - SHANYWA 8363. (ii) YWATHIT 8566 - MYEZ - MYAUK 8565 No (i) patrol reported N.E.S. KALAYWA 8565 and MYEZI TAUNG 8464. SHANYWA 8363 found empty, and headman MYEZI TAUNG 8464 said that Japanese soldiers had been foraging in the village. Patrol (ii) No enemy seen and nothing to report. At 1730 hrs two Guerilla reports were received that an enemy party estimated at 600 were in jungle to the West of KOGWA. COs Pl under command O.C. HQ. Coy set ambush at 869630. One Pl 'C' Coy, with 5 brens proceeded to YE - OZIN 9064 and set ambush on track running South from village. 1 Troop 8 Cavalry patrolled SIBINTHA 8661 to NYAUNGCHIDAUK 8757 from 2200 hrs to 0100 hrs 9 June. Mobile cinema showed the film " SAN DEMETRIO LONDON" in Bn HQ area in evening. Reference to Appendices: Appx F.1. 2 R Berks Int Summary dated 8 June 45. |
