Entry The following visited the Bn :- A.L.O., Div, Div L.O., P.R.O., Reporter for story on YEOZIN show. 312 Bty of 128 Regt R.A. came under command 1 Member of Int Sec E. Yorks visited on liason. 'D' Coy moved to ambush track in Pg area 8455 with under command 1 Sect Mtrs based at 863551 with 1 F.O.O. with ambush. 200 Japs with wounded, reported area 8249. Locals report track has been marked and runs North and South. No contact made. 'B' Coy, on investigating attack on their ambush at KYETPAUNGGYAUNG found 2 dead Japs and collected 3 pages of a diary believed that of a Jap officer. Blood and equipment was found and it was estimated that several Japs were wounded by accurate 3" Mtr fire. 'B' Coy locations remained the same as yesterday. At 1730 hrs 1 Pl 'A' Coy moved to ambush GYOGAING 865495 and return at dawn. C.O.s Pl and Snipers moved to bridge at M.S. 154 1/2 to lay ambush for the night. Guerilla reports throughout the day confirmed that parties of Japs are moving South from SHANYWA 836635. At 0200 hrs 6 rounds per gun were fired on chaung 853534, believed to contain 400 Japs with 4 elephants. Results not yet known. 1 Tp 8 Cavalry patrolled road hoping to prevent enemy crossing and drive them into our ambushes. References to Appendices: None.
