Entry At 0615 hrs O.C. 'D' Coy and 1 Sec Mtrs went out to rejoin his 2 Pl ambushes at M.S. 154 to investigate fully damage done by shelling of yesterday and prepared to shoot up any Japs who had come back to chaung junc 830639. No further trace was found but confirmed reports of 2 June, ie shelling effective. All ambushes reported no enemy seen during night 2 June. At 1030 hrs C.O.s Pl Snipers and 1 Pl 'D' Coy with 1 Sec 3" Mtrs and 1 troop 115 Fd Regt R.A. in support moved by M.T. to SAW MILL 900660. (See Sitrep attd Appx A.1). At 1350 hrs guerilla reports that 300 Japs in chaung at 837558 with wounded. Guerilla ordered to keep them under observation and report movements. At 1900 hrs C.O. issued Operation Orders for 4 June. (See Appx D.1.). Church Services were held as follows :- Bn H.Q. 0700 hrs and 0900 hrs. 'C' Coy 1100 hrs. 'A' and 'B' Coys 1630 hrs. Major Brittain, O.C., 136 Force at KWEBWE wounded believed killed on East side of River opposite YE-OZIN. Guerilla attempting to recover his body. Our casualties - 2 O.Rs wounded.
