Entry | No enemy seen during night 29/30 May. At 0900 hrs 'B' Coy (at 988952) moved to village (9557). Patrols sent to village (9855) and ferry (9460) at 2100 hrs. 'D' Coy location the same as yesterday. Night ambush, strength 1 Pl, laid at 905767 on guerilla report. 'D' Coy ordered to return to NYAUNGCHIDAUK 1300 hrs 31 May. Snipers sent to SIBINTHA (8761) to lay night ambush to return at dawn 31 May. 'C' Coy returned to KYWEBWE and saw ENSA Concert Party at 1930 hrs. At 1310 hrs Bty of 25 pdrs at M.S. 161 (8674) fired 5 rounds per gun on 792789 (BUNGI CHAUNG) which was reported to be inhabited by 200 Japs. Results not known. 1 Jap P.W. captured by 136 Force despatched to Div at 1800 hrs. Orders given at 1745 hrs for 'B' Coy to return at 1100 hrs. 1 Extra bottle of beer for all ranks issued by C.B.J.D. At 2215 hrs small arms fire was heard believed coming from M.S. 154. Road patrolled by 1 Tp 8 Cavalry, who reported nothing. 13 men rejoined from hospital. 49 new reinforcements arrived.
