Orders were given as follows:- 'A' Coy, with under command C.O.s Pl to move by march route at 1900 hrs as follows - ZEYAWADI 8848 - road & track junc 886497 - track junc 952499 - chaung & track junc 978552 - chaung & track junc 982498 - LEBYINGYI 9748 - ZEYAWADI Pg 9646 - track 987474. To remain in this area for night, and to take up posns to cover MYO C 9847, and the crossing to KYATHAWNG 9846. 'B' Coy, with under command 2 dets mtrs, to commence beating the following area at 0515 hrs 25 May 45. ZEYAWADI 8848 - track junc 906459 - MALATOLA 9046. Send strong patrols KYAUKKHEGWIN 9146 - KOHNI 9246 - KYAGWIN 9145 - RUPSAGAR 9345 - PACHHMIKILLA 9446 - BICHLA KILLA 9546 - PURBIYA KILLA 9646. Dismounted Tp 8 Cav to beat following area - SADHOGAON 8944 - BHARUWATOLE 9144 - BALATITOLA 9244 - WINDAUKSU 9444 - KYAUNGDO 9445 - TAGUNDAING 9544 - ZIGONANAUK 9644 - ZIGON ASHE 9645 - MYOGYAUNG 9745. Pl 8 Cav not to proceed beyond BALATOLA 9244 until 'B' Coy have reached RUPSAGAR 9345. One Bty 115 Fd Regt R.A. at ZEYAWADI 8848, F.O.O.s with 'A' and 'B' Coys & 8 Cavalry Pl Intercomn. Tac H.Q. to be established at ZEYAWADI 8848 by 1630 hrs 24 May 45. 'A' Coy reported in posn at 2330 hrs. At 0515 hrs the beat commenced and villages were reported clear as follows:- 0615 hrs BHARUWATOLA 9044 0620 hrs MALOTOLA 5046 0635 hrs KYAUKKHEGWIN 9146 0645 hrs BALATITOLA 9244 0700 hrs KOHNI 9246 0705 hrs WINDAUKSU 9444 0730 hrs PACHMI KILLA 9446 0745 hrs TAGUNDAING 9544 0800 hrs BICHLAKILLA 9546 and PURBIYA KILLA 0830 hrs ZIGON ANAUK 9644 0845 hrs ZEYAWADI Pg 9646 0900 hrs ZIGON ASHE 9645 0902 hrs MYOGYAUNG 9745 One prisoner, escorted by two Burmans, was picked up by Pl 8 Cav at 905444. 'B' Coy were ordered to beat back along the MYO, but no enemy were seen. 'A' Coy arrived back at 1200 hrs and 'B' Coy at 1300 hrs. Tac H.Q. returned to Bn H.Q. at 1230 hrs. 'D' Coy & dismounted tp of 8 Cavalry laid an ambush at M.S. 144 from dusk to dawn 26 May. Issue of Victory in Europe beer (3 bottles per man) and Xmas cake. One new officer joined (Lieut A. SODEN).
