Location Nyaungchidauk, Burma
Entry At 1330 hrs a co-ordinating conference was held at Bn HQ. For Bde area of responsibility see Appx J.7. The Bn task was to intercept and destroy enemy forces attempting to escape or move through the area known as Green Sector - For Bn boundaries see Appx J.7. Bn dispositions (see Appx J.7.) plus supporting arms were as follows - NYAUNGCHIDAUK - 2 R Berks less 2 Coys, 1 bty 20 Mtr Regt (M.T. and pack basis). 1 Pl 11th Sikhs (M.G.) 1 Sec 29 Ind Fd Coy, LT A.D.S. (det 52 Ind Fd Amb). ZEYAWADI - 2 Coys 2 R Berks, One tp 274 A/Tk Bty. Block posns were to be established (1) On track leading West from NYAUNGCHIDAUK. Tps - one inf Pl, 1 Pl M.M.G. in support - 1 Bty, 20 Mountain Regt. (2) On track ZEYAWADI - KYETPAUNGGYAUNG 8347. Tps - One inf Pl, in support One tp 274 A/Tk Bty. Further, ambushes were to be reconnoitered at (1) All ferry pts on SITTANG River within Green Sector (2) All important West - East tracks in the neighbourhood of the main road and railway (3) Points on right bank opposite places where fair tracks on left bank terminated. To accomplish this task Coys were allotted areas of responsibility, and places at which ambushes should be reconnoitered were nominated - see Appx J.7. Reference to Appendices: Appx J.7.
