Entry | 913977. At 0730 hrs orders were received to re-occupy Pagoda 3 as quickly as possible. Accordingly at 1030 hrs the Bn moved by march route to Pt 270 by way of bridge 9197 - track along East bank of SITTANG River to Pagoda 938951 - track junction 961943. 'D' Coy were then detached, occupying Pt 270, whilst the remainder of the Bn continued the advance and re-occupied the posns in the area of Pagoda 3 evacuated on 30th April. No enemy opposition was encountered. 115 Fd Regt remained in support together with 1 tp 274 Bty still in posn at M.S. 2 1/4 on Rd TOUNGOO - THANDAUNG. Patrols returning throughout the day reported small parties of enemy in the area of Pagoda 2, track junc 969996, bridge 9799, track junction 977985 and village 9798. Pagoda 1 was reported held by recce patrol 8 F.F.R. Reference to Appendice: None. |
