Entry At 0120 hrs a Japanese patrol of 5 men was engaged by our perimeter posns. The enemy suffered casualties 1 killed. At midday orders were received to patrol the area of the 3 pagodas with a view to capturing them and accordingly at 1530 hrs 1 Pl 'A' Coy and 1 Pl 'B' Coy (combined force under command Lieut WHITTINGHAM - JONES) moved out by M.T. and established themselves on Pt 270 - this feature was at the time held by 1 Pl 8 F.F.R. The task of this force was thoroughly to patrol the area within the following boundaries - Pagoda 1 - track junction 969996 - bridge 974994 - track junc 976985 - bridge 968977 - TALOKKON - Pagoda 3 during the subsequent 36 hours.
