Entry An 'A' Coy recce patrol at first light to SHWEBONTHA - Pg found extensive positions unoccupied and 3 abandoned vehicles. 1 Pl immediately occupied the Pagoda. The Bn was then deployed so as to form the left hand side of the square HTANDAW - SHWEBONTHA Pg - SEDI TAUNG 6553 - KYWEGAN 6153 with the 4/4 G.R. holding the southern side, and the 8/12 F.F.R. beating the area. Dispositions Bn H.Q. and 1 Tp 274 Bty 631554. 'D' Coy 627554. 'C' Coy 626543. 'B' Coy & 1 Sec Mtrs track junc 627536. Posns were then dug. 20 Mountain Regt were in support in the immediate area. During the night however a warning order for the Bn less 1 Coy and the Mtr Pl to move to MEIKTILA early on Apr 15 was received. Casualties - own troops - 3 O.Rs wounded by our own shells.
