Entry Work on defensive posns continued. Patrol to KG 6157 reported no enemy seen. A mobile fighting patrol under command of Major E.C. Pemberton M.C. consisting of 1 Pl 'C' Coy, 1 Sec of Carriers manned by 1/15 Punjab Regt and an F.D.D. then moved out to search the cluster of villages round MINGON 5701. These were found to be clear. The patrol then moved on to SUBAN 5965 and some enemy were seen in the jungle just South of the village. The patrol turned East towards MYINGYAKAN 6165, and killed 3 enemy on the track itself. As the carriers were crossing the chaung just West of the village they were engaged by small arms fire from the top of the opposite bank. Two drivers were hit and their carriers bogged down, and they had to be abandoned. The patrol returned without further casualties. Spasmodic shelling occurred throughout the day, causing 1 wounded. 'B' Coy rejoined from MAYMYO. Heavy rain fell during the night. Casualties - 1 O.R. wounded. Reference to Appendice: None.
