Entry | Patrolling continued as per programme, but still more intensely. (See Patrol Programme attd Appx). Main results - 'A' Coy found area of Govt Workshops 552644 clear, also all area to their immediate West, and North West to SHWETA CHAUNG. 'B' Coy patrolled twice into General Hospital 588649 and Rly Stn, killed 1 enemy definitely and probably wounded 2 or 3 more. Patrols were also sent out during the night. Positions at nightfall as before. Enemy during night - 3 Japs approached along road from South and were fired on by M.M.Gs without result. 'B' Coys North-West perimeter post was attacked by 6 enemy with bayonets. The attack was repelled by grenades and L.M.G. fire. Two enemy were killed & bodies recovered, and probably several others wounded. Blood was seen in the area next morning. Casualties - Enemy - 6 known killed. Own casualties - Officers - 1 Offr (Capt C. Reynold) slightly wounded remaining on duty. [ Reference to Capt Reynold had been lined through]. O.Rs - 1 killed, 9 wounded, 2 missing.
