Entry Bn was due to be relieved by 1/15 Punjab Regt during the afternoon, but this was later cancelled and Bn came under comd of 64 Bde. 'C' and 'D' Coys and Tac H.Q. left Bn area at 0925 hrs for the attack on X Rds at 594639. 'C' Coy moved South of main road to a Coy F.U.P. approx 400 yds S.W. of X Rds. Enemy sniping was encountered and Lieut A.B. Rose was hit. 'D' Coy moved slightly North of main road to a posn 500 yds West of X Rds to protect 'C' Coys west flank during attack. 'C' Coy attacked enemy posn at 1404 hrs, after Arty Concentration (See Fire Plan attached Appx D.3.) and attack was successful. Enemy was driven from posn, leaving one dead body. 'C' Coy consolidated posn and 'D' Coy which in meantime had been shelled at their S.P. & incurred 3 casualties, moved up and assisted in consolidation. 2 Secs M.M.G. ('B' Coy, 11 Sikh Bn) were placed under command. During the morning 'A' Coy found another 75 mm gun, 3 mountain guns, and one 37 mm gun in Workshop area (Sq. 5564), all of which were destroyed by our Sappers. Dispositions at nightfall:- Bn, less 3 Coys - X Rds 580639. 'A' Coy - Rly Br 567640. 'C' & 'D' Coys - X Rds 593638. Night was free from enemy activity. Casualties - Enemy - 1 dead body found.
