Entry At 1st light 'B' Coy sent one Platoon to village UDEIN (5299) & reported enemy in occupation. Another Pl sent out and surrounded village. 'C' Coy followed up 'B' Coy and took up position at creek 544002. 'D' Coy returned to Bn H.Q. area. 'A' Coy, supported by 2 tps medium tanks (150 Regt R.A.C.) moved out at 0645 hrs followed by Bn Tac H.Q. to attack village SINYWA. Village taken by 0930 hrs and 1 Pl occupied dominating hill feature at 5702. One enemy 75 mm gun destroyed. 'D' Coy moved to creek at 1100 hrs. 'B' Coy occupied UDEIN killing 10 enemy including 1 officer. 'D' Coy continued South but held up by enemy at SAMUN GOW (5294). 'A' Coy ordered to occupy road and chaung crossing 6300. 'A' Coy was unable to reach objective owing to very rough going, but sent a patrol fwd to crossing. Bn H.Q. and 'C' Coy crossed Creek and occupied KADOZEIK (5400). Locations at nightfall as above. Total advance during day 8 miles. Casualties - Enemy - 10 killed incl 1 officer. Own tps - 2 O.Rs killed, 6 O.Rs wounded. Reference to Appendice: Appx J.I. Message of appreciation from Div Comdr
