Entry | Bn in same area. Administration continued. Army Commander, Lieut Gen. Sir William SLIM. K.C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C. visited Bn at 1430, introduced to officers and saw men at normal duties. On leaving he said " I like the look of your men, and please tell them they did very well in their last battle". Orders recd for Bn to take over all positions on West bank of Irrawaddy from 1/6 GHURKAS and 5/10 BALUCH. 2330 Lt-Col H. du Pre Finch assumed command of all troops on West bank of Irrawaddy from incl YEDAW 6804 to incl MAKAUK 7297. 1900 hrs. D Group - Intention - On 7 Feb 2 R. Berks will take over river line incl YEDAW 6804 to incl MAKAUK 7927. Method (a) 'D' Coy will take over area YEDAW from 1/6 G.R. Command passing at 0800 hrs. (b) 'B' Coy with under command 1 Pl 'A' Coy will take over SWEDAIK from 5/10 Baluch. Command passing at 1000 hrs. 1 Pl will be located at MAKAUK (c) Bn H.Q. HQ Coy and 'A' Coy less 1 Pl and Adm Coy will relieve 1/6 G.R. at KYAUKMYAUNG. Reinforcement draft of 2 Cpls and 60 Ptes joined from 25 Rgt Camp. Lieut J. Harvey (Liecesters) Lieut J.M.
