Regiment 2nd Royal Berkshire
Location Kabwet, Burma
Entry All Coys in same locations as yesterday. No plan of attack for today, only patrolling, including a patrol as a stop to Masts area in preparation for an attack tomorrow or next day. About 1100 hrs O.C. 'B' Coy went on a recce round right flank of enemy (old 'D' Coy area). No enemy seen and he appreciated that enemy had withdrawn. A feint withdrawal was carried out by 'B' & 'D' Coys with some 3" Smoke bombs to give enemy the impression that another Air Strike was about to take place. Enemy did not change to fwd positions as on previous day. A recce in force was then carried out by 'D' Coy. No enemy encountered. B & D Coys then moved fwd and found no trace of enemy except booby traps. One O.R. wounded in enemy booby trap. All enemy positions occupied by 1510 hrs. Only a few damaged rifles and some enemy equipment found. Coys ordered to patrol all area of old enemy positions during night. Reference to Appendice: Appx A.8. Sitrep up to 1200 hrs (Original only).
