Location Kabwet, Burma
Entry Positions as on previous evening. Limited patrol activities against enemy during day. Composition and lay-out of Finch's Force:- Bn HQ and A Coy 2 R. Berks. - village KOKTET. B Coy 2 R. Berks. - Ridge 688213. D Coy 2 R. Berks. - Ridge 691213. 11th Sikh Bn. (Bn HQ & 2 Coys) - village KABWET. 1 Coy Assam Regt - village KABWET. Supporting arms under command - 240 Fd Bty. 115 Fd Regt 2 x 6 pdrs in 'B' Tps. 1 Squadron 11th Cavalry 1 Det Sea Recce Unit. 6 Carriers (R.I.A.S.C.). Enemy positions at Pt 280 at 679208 - 15 r at 686207 extending Eastwards to 693210. Air Strike on enemy positions at 1115 hrs - Northern, Southern slopes enemy positions at 15 r 1530 hrs. Targets in area 690210 - 690208 - 15 r at 686207 - 685210 - Along village from Pt 280 at 680207 - Creek at 683206. During day 25 pdr guns and A/TK guns fired direct at located bunker positions and other likely areas. Some bunkers were destroyed and up to 7 enemy were flushed into open and probably shot. After the morning attack several enemy were shot attempting to vacate Bunker positions. Our patrols found the enemy still in defensive positions on 15 r and located further bunkers which had been unknown. One patrol went round the East of Pt 696211 as far as the river bank without finding any enemy. Jitter parties from B Coy sent out against enemy during night. Casualties -NIL.
