Entry Finch Force formed - comprised of 2 R. Berks, 11th Sikhs less 2 Coys, 'C' Coy 8 F.F.R. one Coy Assam Regt, one troop 115 Fd Regt in support. One troop 275 Bty 33 A.A. & A. Tr Regt As a result of our shelling and mortaring during early hours of morning the enemy removed his outpost posn astride THINBAUNG - KABWET Road. Bn H.Q. was accordingly able to advance another 1/2 mile and 'C' Coy 11 Sikhs occupied ridge on right of road overlooking KABWET during the early morning. 'B' Coy moved from West of KABWET and came into Bn HQ area during the morning. 'A' Coy patrolled fwd from Pagoda area and entered the 11 Sikh perimeter. 'A' Coy Comd went into the perimeter himself thus making first physical contact with 11 Sikh. 11 Sikhs were able to define their own outer posn more accurately and also point out certain enemy bunkers and fox-holes. This enabled O.C. 2 R. Berks to plan his attack in the light of this information. During afternoon one 6 pdr fired at enemy bunker posn which had been pin pointed, over open sights with apparent success. O Gp at 1730 hrs on Sikh ridge overlooking KABWET enemy posns. C.O. pointed out located enemy bunkers and gave orders for an attack next morning supported by a troop of 25 pdrs. Casualties - Killed 1 O.R. Wounded - 1 Offr (Lieut A.W. Day) and 1 O.R.
