Entry | Village of KINU was found clear of enemy. 16 enemy dead were counted and attributed to this action by the Bn. Several others were probably wounded and some others possibly killed. Capt C. Besly and Ptes Dodd W (14340725) & Bunn R (5345633) (B Coy) were cited as having shown especially meritorious conduct in face of the enemy during the previous day and were recommended for immediate gallentry awards. Bn was reformed on a 3 Rifle basis until arrival of fresh reinforcements. C Coy amalgamated with B Coy. The Bn continued the advance at 1230 hrs. The Bn less A Coy went into a D.A. for the night at YE-E-GON (SR 3714) no contact with the enemy was made that night. A Coy was included in a Bn D.A. with the Worcestershire Regt (2 Div) at Rd Junc (SR 3510) and was in contact with the enemy during the night. Own casualties - NIL. Reference to Appendice: None. |
