Location Zigon, Burma
Entry Bn moved from D.A. at mile 22.1 Rd ZIGON (SR 2441) - KINU(SR 3122) with KINU as objective. About 2 miles north of KINU spasmodic fire was encountered from enemy. Bn HQ and HQ Coy shelled on the road. B Coy went round to West and entered KINU from N.W. during p.m. D Coy pushed South along East of road. A Coy entered KINU from North down main road, followed by Bn. HQ and HQ Coy and occupied N.E. outskirts of village. Encountered enemy L.M.G. fire and snipers. A & D Coys, Bn HQ & HQ Coy vacated village about 1630 hrs and went into D.A. 3/4 mile N of KINU. C Coy passed through and went into a Coy box about 300 yards N of KINU. Casualties - Lieut E. J. Waugh killed and 4 O.Rs wounded. Reference to Appendice: None.
