Location Chaung, Burma
Entry Lt.Col H. du Pre FINCH, The Royal Berkshire Regt assumed command having come from H.Q 33 Corps. Bn moved from D.A. at 1 1/2 miles NORTH of CHAUNG crossing (S.R. 231505). Bde objective line ZIGON-TANTABIN. Enemy opposition encountered by advance guard (8.F.F.R.) area MINBA (S.R.2445). Bn carried out left outflanking movement to East and came in on road TANTABIN / ZIGON at map reference S.R. 270421. "C" Coy pushed South across road and pinned to ground by L.M.G. fire. "D" Coy outflanked enemy position via S.E.POKPA releasing "C" Coy and gained road at about MS 26.4 and went into a Coy box for night. In the meanwhile A Coy gained X rds at S.R. 2642 and "B" Coy astride road to KIN-U. Bn H.Q. Coy, A and C Coys formed D.A. at cross roads for night. B and D Coys captured certain enemy equipment. During night A and B Coys perimeters were attacked by small raiding parties. Casualties 7 O.Rs wounded. Reference to Appendice: None.
